In reaction to our lives being turned upside down by the health crisis, I am currently working on a sculpture series in which every work will use a copy of the same character, yet set in a different context each time. The series will refer to the history of sculpture and its traditions by addressing current and personal subjects. The various narratives aim to show the evolution of collective values and the aspiration to a better time when ethical awareness will be at the heart of human action. This allegory is derived from the traditional representation of the figure of Atlas. Produced mostly in gypsum, polyurethane resin, and ceramic, the sculpture stages a young child attempting to pick up a planet that has been awkwardly dropped.
