Between tradition and modernity, this sculptural allegory is derived from the original story of the Forbidden Fruit in Genesis. It shows the evolution of collective values and the aspiration to a better time when ethical awareness will be at the heart of human action. Embedded in a world wrapped in a plastic wave, a human figure tries to reach an egg resting on a naked branch. The porcelain egg symbolizes birth, the fantasy of renewal, and the idealization of hope. L’Exode considers the various challenges of our time by examining the role of individuals in a collective future. It shows how gestural and mental labour can help us to explore the notions of introspection and evolution involved in cultural awareness.
