"Nature morte II" is an exploration of the concept of transformation through sculpture. The piece consists of a replica in translucent resin of a branch, meticulously molded with silicone to capture every detail of its texture and shape. This branch, reproduced in resin, then freezes in time, becoming a static representation of nature.
The title of the work echoes the eponymous artistic genre of painting but transcends disciplinary boundaries by exploring still life through sculpture. It is a meditation on the transformation of inanimate objects and on the ability of materials and manufacturing processes to breathe new life into familiar forms.
