"Nature Morte" explores the concept of transformation through sculpture. The piece consists of a bronze replica of half a rock, molded in silicone to capture every detail of its texture and shape. This half rock, reproduced in bronze, becomes a frozen object in time, a static representation of nature.
The intervention of black plastic resin inside the bronze shell symbolizes the tension between nature and human industry. The choice to fill the form with plastic evokes contemporary environmental issues, highlighting how human activity disrupts and pollutes natural ecosystems.
The title of the work echoes the eponymous artistic genre of painting but transcends disciplinary boundaries by exploring still life through sculpture. It reflects on the transformation of inanimate objects and how materials and manufacturing processes can breathe new life into a familiar form.
